The history
When it was built in the ’70s, the Reunion Tower was part of an urban redevelopment project that included renovations of the city’s historic Union Station. Before it was remodeled in 2008, the globe featured a revolving restaurant, a nightclub dubbed The Dome and a basic observation deck. Today, Reunion Tower features the Geo-Deck, an indoor/outdoor observation deck, the option for a guided tour, a small gift shop, a scenic steakhouse and rental spaces.
The restaurant
Opened in February 2009, Crown Block offers a fine balance between steak, seafood and plant-based cuisine. The restaurant is owned by Blau + Associates, the company known for transforming Las Vegas into the world-class culinary destination it is today. While it no longer spins, there are no regrets about removing the globe’s rotating mechanism. This decision allowed the restaurant to add more space in the kitchen, leading to a first-class menu featuring ingredients from regional farms, ranches and the Gulf of Mexico.
